The main GR20 trail takes you through a great cirque of rock slabs and towering peaks to arrive on the ridge. It's worth the one hour diversion to Monte Cinto, the highest peak on the island. Leave your sack and follow the marked trail, keeping to the right of the crest and crossing multiple couloirs. The route is indistinct in places and involves crossing some loose ground in order to avoid major difficulties on better rock. Return the same way.

Follow the GR20 to the Refuge Ciutullu di i Mori. It's a bit of a slog through the forest but succumbs to persistence!
The hut allows ascents of the nearby peaks without being encumbered by a full pack. The Paglia Orba lies right above the hut. Its ascent is nowhere very difficult if the easiest line is followed but this is not so easy to locate, with a multitude of little tracks and cairns. Go towards the Col des Maures but leave the trail before the pass is reached, following a line of cairns to the right. Eventually you'll arrive at a forepeak, from where s short descent and final easy scramble leads to the summit. The descent takes the same way. There are numerous reports of people being unable to find the right line and retreating. Remember that you'll need to return the same way, so don't go up anything you can't get down.
