Highlights

Every journey his different and highlights are dictated as much by circumstance, people, weather and frame of mind, as they are by place and activity.  However, Corsica End to End is distinguished by the variety of landscapes encountered including rocky cirques, enchanting forests, green pools, crystal clear waters, white sands and wild ridges.  This is just a sample of what you might expect to experience.

Being a mountainous island, you may well see peaks rising above a sea of clouds, a mystical drama that will leave a lasting impression. The sunset from a Muvrella (above) was a superlative moment of awe.

The clear waters offer many opportunities for snorkelling and swimming, with a multitude of fish and sea-life.

Although several peaks offer spectacular scrambling, the Capu Tafunatu and its iconic 'hole' is a particular highlight.

The Rocher de Pruberzulu stands out like a thumb. It makes a memorable sleeping place, cocooned beneath its overhang.

Although parts of the island are arid, the mountain interior boasts cascading streams that leap from one green pool to another. The descent beside the river to the Cascade des Anglais offers multiple opportunities for cooling dips in a magnificent setting.

Much of the interior of the island is forested, providing welcome shade from the beating sun and habitat for the native wild boar.

The walled city of Bonifacio is a fitting place to relax at the end of the trip, with its alleyways, views over the sea and bustling life.

However, the end point of the trek is a the real climax - a promontory of crumbling white cliffs, with Sardinia beckoning beyond. Enter the water and swim with the fish in a final exploration of the island in the sea caves.
